The ASA Symposium on Statistical Inference: Bob’s great talk

“A world beyond p < .05." That's the subtitle for the ASA Symposium on Statistical Inference, which ran last month. Bob was there and recently posted a brief initial report.

I wasn’t there, alas, but I’ve now had three independent reports that Bob’s talk at the Symposium was fantastic. I’m told that he did a great job making the case for estimation (the new statistics) as an excellent step forward from p values, and just what’s needed in the world beyond p < .05. Bob's talk was titled: "Beyond p values: Better Inference with the New Statistics”. The slides are here.

The cheeky question Bob asked on his last slide…
